Regarding your comment in this episode about an Apple employee asking if the customer really needed to buy the new computer... that is indeed a company policy, or at least it was when I worked there over a decade ago. We were trained to uncover the customer’s actual needs by asking questions, and we weren’t paid on commission so there wouldn’t be a high pressure sales environment.
