Oh, that comment was getting too long! Yeah, that's a great idea for bridesmaid dresses too, I did that. My dress was vintage! ...Courtney says "Do Laundry Better"...DIY laundry detergent helps there! It's cheap, healthier, and easy. This recipe from BrenDid.com is like mine: 4 – 4 oz bars Castile Soap, grated (need 16 ounces total) 4 lbs Baking Soda 3. 7 lbs Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda (1 box) 3 lbs OxyClean (1 container) 28 oz Epsom Salt (optional) OR 1 4lb Box of Borax....combine everything, shake together, and use 1TB per average size load. Yes...we have had our own dealings with healthcare the bureaucracy is wasteful and ridiculous...like not knowing what something will cost unless you ask, and the incredible variance in price for services, like an ultrasound. A hospital charged me like $850, while a radiology center charged $275 for the same service, of equal quality, Some resources are medibid.com; healthcarebluebook.com for real prices on healthcare services. With Medibid you can make a request for medical and then doctors/providers will send you bids. Health Care Blue Blue book help you find real, fair prices for services. Another option not mentioned is HCSMs (Health Care Sharing Ministries) Think of them as a co-op of members sharing each others' bills. Samaritan ministries is 25 years old, with high reviews from members. I am a member and have great experiences whenever I've had an issue, and my last pregnancy ($4000 plus) was totally shared. Other people with surgical needs, cancer have seen thousands of dollars of their bills shared and paid for. I will say HCSMs aren't for everyone and are faith-based; it would be great to see HCSMs arise for people of different faiths and beliefs. Perhaps it can be done!

I was married at a non-denominational chapel and had strangers as witnesses. I wore a nice dress that I liked and already had, all in all, we paid $100 and that was it. I cannot believe the crazy amount of money people put into weddings, such a waste never regretted it for a minute.

Enjoyed this episode. A few thoughts comments...a friend of mine was having breast reduction surgery because of the negative impact on her neck and shoulders (a real thing). Insurance came back and said they would pay for one breast but not the other because one was (as is normal for most women) slightly larger than the other. She just paid out of pocket rather than continuing to argue with insurance and the hospital. Hospital wouldn't let her just pay for the one insurance wouldn't cover and insurance wouldn't cover both. How dumb is that? On to fashion...I don't think people saying something is flattering means it makes you look skinny. It could be that the color is flattering and brings out your eye color or skin or whatever. It could also be that a piece of clothing is so YOU that it looks amazing on you because it reflects your personality and personal style. I have a capsule wardrobe that is primarily black, white, navy, and red. Every time I wear red people positively comment and I appreciate those comments. Lastly, unless my daughter just really wants my wedding dress for her own wedding (which she'll need to call pretty soon - ha!), I was planning to have it altered and dyed for her to wear as a formal dress at some point in the coming years. When we got married, I did buy a traditional wedding gown (on sale) but I asked my bridesmaids to get a dress in our color but that they'd wear again as I didn't want it hanging in their closet for years to come (as all of the bridesmaid dresses I wore did). They each had on something different and all used them again!
