Just for clarification, MEDICARE is for over age 65 and is a subsidized basic plan. You purchase extra “Parts” for things like the gap between what Part-A (Medicare basic) pays and the actual costs to the patient, or for extra coverage for prescriptions or more. MEDICAID (low cost subsidized medical aid) is for low-income folks (you must QUALIFY and BE ACCEPTED into the program). Unfortunately, NOT all states have expanded Medicaid to cover all the people who NEED it. MANY people are left out - that’s why we now have the ACA to help many folks, but again still not all who need healthcare. Also, healthcare is available through the ACA online sign-up yearly, and costs are a sliding scale based upon income. Just my 2-cents of what I’ve learned in FL - no expansion here
