MAXIMS
Emotions are great airplane passengers—but horrible pilots.
Debt doesn’t drain only your bank account; debt drains your freedom.
Acceptance is nice, but needing acceptance is a prison.
Gift-giving is no more a love language than pig Latin is a Romance language.
Letting go is not something you do; letting go is something you stop doing.
Simplify to be free, not to be a “good minimalist.”
Judgment is a mirror that reflects the insecurities of the judge.

We appreciate you, Kathleen!

First of all, thank you for the diverse conversations. That’s why I’m here. I hope my statement wasn’t taken as criticism to the content. It was definitely not. I think of this podcast like a grocery store. There’s a lot in here, and some of it isn’t for me. Not every ingredient in the store is in my house because I have no need, or it isn’t my taste, or perhaps I have an adverse reaction if I ingest it. This particular episode was for me (and I dislike this word) “triggering”. Suggestions? Keep having the conversations. In several years of being a Minimalist, this is the first time I’ve skipped an episode. I enjoy hearing from other patrons. I wonder sometimes what their stories are. Are they like mine? Are they different? Thanks!

Thanks for your feedback, Kathleen! Any useful suggestions for the future?

I appreciate The Minimalists always having a conversation with people of all kinds of backgrounds but this one for me, I’m not about it. Can’t finish it. I’m sure it’s my own shit that’s needs unpacking but my days of listening to Christian dudes talk about being worldly, yada yada. I’m out. Onto the next one. No idea who Kendrick Lamar is, had to ask my 20 yr old son but if he’s getting his Tolle on, have at, bud.
