MAXIMS
Traveling with fewer things creates room for more experiences.
Expansive travel does not require expensive travel.
If joy is a destination, then you have already arrived.
Minimalists maximize their appreciation with things that enhance their experiences.
On a long enough timeline, everything is impermanent.
Every destination is desirable when decision-making is a process of discovery.
A worrier is a person who concerns himself with outcomes outside his control.
Living in the moment is the antidote to the fear of missing out.

Your layer cake of consumerism is absolutely calling me out. (I hate it 😅) Thank you for always holding us accountable!

TK! I feel same as you (now previously?) about YouTube. I don’t pay attention to ads, and I refuse to give YouTube my money. I will however follow all my favorites on Rumble, and watch them there, ad free. No censorship of ideas, full episodes. I pay for the things which add value. I vote with my eyes/dollars, YouTube gets none from me since they’ve decided who and what can be said on their platform (which yes, is there prerogative… but that has consequences.) Even Dave Ramsey is on Rumble. If someone sends me a youtube link, sure, I’ll take a gander if I feel like it, but I barely spend any time there anymore. And that’s how I “reward”? the good behavior of the ad free platforms. Not by paying youtube.
