JFK's intro is poignant and on point. I adore TK's ice cream comment. But most of all, I love Ryan sharing his relationship with his mom, both vulnerable and enlightening. *Hugs*

interesting how we see things, get hints and meet people, when we know what we are looking for. yeah, T.K. the what that gives rise to the how. for several weeks I observe intensively what my brain reacts to in order to understand boundaries for overflow and pain (trigger for migraine). our brain gets 35 to 50 impulses per second, that are 50.000 to 70.000 thoughts per day. I cannot control my brain input most of the time, but I can create a calm environment at home to reduce the number of incoming impulses. and I can reduce the "high impulse waves" with meditation, mindfulness and neurofeedback, taking more breaks during the day, looking at a trees or the sky. I even thought about changing my way to the office, getting off one stop early to walk a bit or getting off before the main station and getting back on behind it because it is the highest stress point for me. as Ryan has said it quite right: why do we hold on to the things we don't want (and that do not give any value to our lives)? the cost of letting it go and live in a different world! my cost is time and detours now. and the cost is a "supposed status" to the outside world and money even, because I had decided a few years ago to live a calmer and healthier life and traded several career opportunities to become an "executive leader" for a 4-day week in a quieter job. I feel good that I turned my back to save myself ;-), but I feel the eyes on me sometimes - people do not understand that "status" may have a different quality for an individual. it is not about the job, but about how you feel about your own life.
