I just listened to this on a road trip with my husband, and my two sons, my eldest an athlete at 22, and my youngest 11 years old. I’ve raised them both with no processed food, on a whole food diet. My eldest dabbled a bit when he went off to on his own, but he had the foundation, and as an athlete could feel exactly what food did to his performance. He makes great food choices. My youngest knows the “why” of our way of eating, but he really enjoys hearing it from outside sources. It was pretty eye opening, the kid screaming for ice cream, and this is what his mother did to him. TK’s point about celebrations was a great one. We bring our own goodies to parties, and everyone is used to how we are, if they’re coming to our house for one of our parties. I’m super interested in getting an MRI to check visceral fat. We always have fermented foods in the house but I’m really interested in which fermented fruits to start checking into.

…the food we eat “thinks for us”..?!😳 The cravings come from the organisms…by influencing the host…meaning us…we are the host being directed by our gut!? Whoa 🤯

Are there results for women?

Weeks later this episode is still really sitting with me, and has caused a lot of subsequent conversations/thoughts/inquiries—all the signs of a great discussion! I appreciate the willingness to have guests that have strong and sometimes controversial opinions, and while this one has positively struck me, I genuinely try to keep that perspective even for the guests that make me scrunch my nose more than nod in astounded agreement. I will be putting some of these recommendations into practice (catch me sprinting along to bosque in NM soon), and thank you for always bringing ideas that are new, innovative, challenging and/or concerning to make me continue to question my own beliefs and practices so that I can be fiercely excited about the unique path I carve for myself and my life. May we always be willing to change course and embrace new concepts whether because we are presented with new info or simply want to experiment with an idea.

I don't understand why he had to say the rats eating poop getting bipolor as a lead to saying what you eat is the cause for all mental illness, it just was such an extreme stretch to humans and their complexities that make such a bold statement takes away from the rest of what he said by such an extreme degree. Very shocking that you guys didn't push back on that claim...

This is eye opening and life changing. Like so many episodes you’ve published! Thanks for having Dr. Sean O’Mara as a guest.
