Announcement about the tournament arc

I hope you're all doing well. I'm making this small announcement to say that I read every single comment here (and on Royalroad, for that matter) and that your criticism has been very helpful. You guys helped me realize ways I could improve my story.
I agree that this tournament arc/academy entrance exams arc is lacking compared to the Evenon arc, which flowed nicely, had personal stakes, and didn't lack progression. I've already added an objective to this tournament arc beyond just "entering the Academy" in the earlier chapters (top 3 will become Damian's apprentices. It would allow Rylan to progress much faster in his journey through magic).
This is all to say that I'll be making some changes to the already-posted chapters here.
Expect to see edits and maybe new chapters entirely, as I cut out unnecessary parts of the arc and therefore stitch together currently-separate chapters. After all, it wouldn't make sense to have one chapter here be 800 words and the next 2k. I'm going to start right now (8:30pm), but most activity will take place from tomorrow onward. Don't worry, I'll neatly organize the chapters in the Collections tab once I'm done. I'll also post another announcement then.
I would highly encourage rereading the arc when I finish. I would also appreciate more feedback. Thank you for reading!

Ooh, that seems like a good call. It will add a lot more depth to the arc.

Very excited! I have really enjoyed this story so far. If I could make one recommendation it would be that when you edit this arc maybe lengthen the time that Rylan spends talking with his siblings/mom. Depending on how you edit the fights that scene felt disproportionately short by comparison and is so important. I also wouldnβt mind adding just a touch more of other characters internal thoughts as they react to Rylan but thatβs just because I love that perspective from time to time. Whatever you decide I look forward to reading Iβm sure itβll be great!
