Thanks for the chapter! Agree with the comments that it doesn't really feel off maybe as some said some kind couple paragraph POV switch to both Mom and her brother maybe to show a different perspective? One of worry and one of greed more clearly? Basically what "normal" people are expecting Rylan and Gerald to archieve and manage^^

Thanks for the chapter! He felt a bit showy but I can understand that he wants to flex.

I skipped some paragraphe reading diagonally. When I was not sure what was happening or why some stuff was said I skipped a bit. I too found some thing off. I don't know if it's a bit too much talk with not important information. But it was different. Also it's early here so I might just be a bit sleepy 🥱. Anyway thanks for the chapter!

To me it actually does feel a little off, I think its the tone of the beginning of the chapter vs my expectations and the rest of the chappy. The beginning feels a little forced with all the worry, I can imagine a bit, but I feel at this point alfric for instance should have nothing but faith rn. Last chapter we finally got the class revel and it's this epic revelation. I don't really know how to put it into words.

Tftc!

Agreed, even a brief lapse of his mothers pov going over her emotions and her other child in the city she hasn't had much time with would pace the chapter better.

I personally don't think that it's "off" , more that it's a matter of "there's so much that needs covering but as it's not an interlude I'm sticking to the MC's perspective so I can't cover it" and it's maybe leaving you feeling a bit disjointed. After all, now that he's back home, there's going to be his mom's thoughts, her brother's machinations, the others that have come escorting/aiding from the academy. None of them are in the MC's direct path/course on current events, but they've all got a role to play that the chap can't cover if it keeps with the having the MC's P.O.V. Nothing wrong with that, but it's just my guess for why you feel it's "off". Perhaps without the other stuff you maybe feel it's a bit rushed since there's so many subplots taking place at the same time? I can only guess.

I don’t think the chapter is all that off. I was a bit surprised with the end of last chapter that they are rushing in so fast. I expected a short delay to be debriefed by the professors and perhaps some attempt at dissuasion. But the fight is awesome and I was happy to get into it asap. Do you feel like the goodbyes needed more? Or maybe Rylan getting a moment with the soldiers he trained? Otherwise the chapter seems great. 👍

I think the flow between chapters 9 and 10, is basically fine. If you’re really unhappy with it, add a phrase to the effect of: “As we stepped into the atrium/salon/garden, we discovered we had an unexpected send-off party.” Regardless, I think you are basically good here. Thanks for the chapter.
