Aura Awakening (Author's Note)

I'm sorry to disappoint you, as the notification wasn't for a chapter (there will be a chapter today, as usual). I'm writing this to get you guys' thoughts on something. Specifically, when and how Rylan should awaken his Aura. I do have a plan, but I'm now wondering if I should've had Rylan awaken it back in the battle against the Basilisk, after being pushed to the brink by the repeated attacks of many powerful monsters. I guess this is a spoiler, but the plan was to have him awaken Aura during an assassination attempt by the Empire, ordered by the Vallius dude from a few chapters ago.
However, the problem with that is that to get there, Rylan would need to become noteworthy enough for Vallius to come up with the attempt in the first place. While I do know how I would do it, it would likely take a good few chapters to get there, given my writing style.
As such, do you guys think I should go back and pull the Aura awakening scene to the Basilisk fight? Naturally, RoyalRoad readers won't really notice the change, since Dungeon arc has only just started over there. In the same vein, the changes would seamlessly apply to the Amazon book. You guys would be the only ones who would need to go back and reread the story a bit from there, as the scene would be new, as well as the dialogue about it and stuff.

I know this is old and don't know if you are still checking it, but it might be better for someone without magic to awaken before him. His limits are higher because he has more tricks in his bag. If it were me I would write one of the soldiers he is training awaken it after he starts training them in the new city.

I agree with what someone else said about the assassin possibly being there to cause chaos, but you could go another route and have Rylan stumble upon the 'assassin' gathering information and then the assassin deciding he either knows too much or maybe the assassin came across him fighting and decides he's too dangerous to leave alive so he plans to eliminate him. Either way, write what you want to write. I love the story so far and can't wait to see him get Aura
