Hardcore History EP 68 (BLITZ) Human Resources
🕑 Added 2022-03-08 01:37:10 +0000 UTCThe Atlantic Slave Trade mixes centuries of human bondage with violence, economics, commerce, geo-political competition, liberty, morality, injustice, revolution, tragedy and bloody reckonings. That sounds like a lot, yet this show merely scratches the surface of this enormous subject.

Its ben covered but I know100% with his style Dan could do topics on the Franco/Prussin war or a detailed series on the Napoleonic area wars that would in my opinion be amazing, with all the myths an history involved

Hi Dan and Ben. I owe you a buck a show for the past 14 years (remember the iPod?). How many shows is that? I want to clean my karma.
Ryan
Idk if Dan replies to these but I was wondering what the next topic is? Great work!!

I’ve listened to this at least three times. Will probably listen many more. The multiple references to Frederick Douglass was thought provoking, gets me to process todays issues within his experiences and thoughts.

A big "what if" for alternatives to the slave trade outside of Britain winning the war would be if the Greeks (and Romans and others around the Mediterranean) realized what a big deal their little steam powered spinny toy was. even in slow motion compared to more modern times, an industrial revolution in 50 bce MAY have eliminated a lot of the horrors of slavery 1000-1500 years sooner than in our time.

Very enlightening episode! Here's waiting for episodes on slavery in the South and one on the US civil war (unless there was one long ago). Thank you!

This episode made me so uncomfortable. I love it.

Thanks for another episode of exceptional content, Dan and Ben (if you do exist)! This is one of the best explorations of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade I've encountered.
John Erfurdt
Thanks for taking on the very uncomfortable topic of slavery. It a testament to your character not to shy away from topics that should be covered if not to see we’re we have been as a society.
Sam Henderson
Thanks Dan!
