Personally, I’m always interested when the guys cover environmental stories. I enjoy the dark and misanthropic humor they bring to the topic, much in the way that Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove subverted the overbearing fears of nuclear holocaust and reframed a numb dread into a meditation on human absurdity. DFF’s commitment to challenging inanity at every turn and sniffing out bullshit wherever it hides is what makes me love the show so much, so hopefully they’ll continue to cover our collective self destruction even if people don’t want to hear it. Often when I listen to DFF it feels like I’m sitting back and eating popcorn on the deck of the titanic. It’s a super satisfying change from being spoon fed. Keep up the good work guys!

Well the sad truth is major corporations are the main contributors to these problems so in a sense the individual really doesn't change things much. Our energies would be better spent getting legislation passed to better regulate these companies and make them more eco-friendly, but there's a multi-billion dollar industry lying to us to make us think such things are impossible.

Holy shit. I spent 6 years in the Navy from 2008-2014. Pretty much the entire stretch was with Obama as president, and he cut our budghet heavily. I remember many times where my Chief told our shop that we need to save money in case a shutdown doesnt allow us to be paid. It never ended up happeneing, but its fucking astonishing that it's happening now under this buffoon. He is supposed to be the big 'Murica Republican and keep our military strong, why are they not being paid? These men and women bust their asses day in and day out on a fucking ship, 7 days a week a lot of the time im sure. If the Coast Guard is anything like the Navy,, those boats are their fucking HOMES. Fucking christ, at least pay the poor fuckers.
