Paul since our countries beginning there was collaboration at least with speech writing. Now I understand that's different from outright writing the speech fully and then shoving it in front of the president like a teleprompter, but very many of those eloquent almost poetic speeches from the founding fathers and so on were a result of collaboration not wholly the words of one man. There were exceptions, Abe Lincoln wrote all of his speeches himself for example, but it was never a political sin in this country to get help outside one's own mind for speech-crafting.
