Looking this over it seems like I might be implying the government shouldnt get involved at all with the guy that killed the baby, and that's not what I meant at all. He killed the kid, charge him with murder. The whole criminal justice system is so broken doing that would probably make everything even worse, but I won't go into that because I sure as fuck don't have an alternative solution. Unless you count " bring on the nukes" I guess

We're in a nation that loves god and hates science. You know what I think? Anti-vax is another thing because it hurts more people than just the children of anti-vaxxers, but fuck it man we have enough people. Let idiots learn by losing what they love. If the govt. steps in, even if it saves the cancer kid, the people who created that kid can just fuck and make another one and will have DOUBLED DOWN on their idiotic beliefs since the central government authority has now taken their child and become their enemy. Let people kill their kids with alternative medicine and THEN charge them with neglect. It's like...am I really supposed to lament the death of the baby that got punched and dropped on the floor? Because there are already WAY too many humans around, and that particular baby would have probably just become a parasitic little clone of the retard that spawned and ultimately killed him. I don't think the government should interfere unless it harms other random innocent people. If idiots wanna ride their motorcycles with no helmet and they get brained on the pavement because the roads were slick, I say that's on them. People won't appreciate safety and security provided by the government, and they definitely won't learn anything from it, so I say fuck em. Let natural selection work its magic. Let the marketplace of ideas sort out the dumbs from the actual thinking individuals. Most people will eventually realize any kind of snake oil isn't doing shit, but if a central authority steps in and decrees from on high that you're an idiot and a shitty parent, idk, I could see people pushing back against that mentally. Our government is fucking evil, dude, and I do NOT want them gaining even more control over our lives unless that starts to change first. Sorry, I guess I'm heartless! Boo hoo, we live in a heartless world. Humanity needs some tough love right about now.

Im currently writing a paper for my degree on carbon in the atmosphere over time(an assigned project) and deriving equations to hindcast and predict co2 levels and temperature levels and so on, and while im doing this there are billions of people in the world who 'dont even believe' that climate change exists or humans have any influence on it. My second to last boss, who is in his mid 30s, literally didn't know the economy crashed in 2008. Fucking lived through one of the worst economic downturns in this country's history, and had, no idea it was happening. Never underestimate the stupidity of the average American.

The current state of the economy depresses me. When I was a kid, prior to 2008, my dad worked full time in a union job and supported our family of four while my brother and I went to private school (the tuition for which was partially paid for by my grandparents, but still). Now I am 23 in 2019, I work full time in a non-entry level position, and I have trouble paying for rent and student loans and basic needs. It fucking sucks. I love my job a lot but I am considering either taking a second job or switching industries in order to keep up and be able to save money.
