I hate this trend of equating any actor in brown make-up portraying a black character with blackface. It's not the same thing. Blackface was an intentional and hyperbolic attempt to villify/demean an entire race of people, which is not the case with any of these instances of acting that have been conflated with it. I know Hawk Nelson!! Lmao when I was a kid I was only allowed to listen to Christian music so I sought out the best music I could find and this band was one of them. That's not a compliment by the way, they suck hard but everything else was WAY worse. They were vaguely pop punk sounding, which was cool at age 12. But after a few years I got access the internet and my taste in music became unregulated. As awful as Hawk Nelson is, I will credit their first album as the first stepping stone that led me down a path to discover actual true punk rock bands that I love today, like Pennywise, Bad Religion, NOFX, and Suicidal Tendencies.

It really pisses me off that conservatives do shit that invites censorship. I'm completely against censorship, or tech companies deciding what's right or wrong, using their pet "fact checkers" to tell you what the official "truth" is, but conservatives post such dumb, clearly wrong shit, that they make their argument for them. I'm terrified of what silicon valley is doing, and I've seen legit situations where somebody was just censored for some bullshit reason (sargon comes to mind, they looked for ANY excuse to get rid of him that they could, but we know why they really did it), but then these dumbasess want to post outright dangerously false shit on the internet and then complain about censorship making anybody who cares about censorship look like a fucking retard.
