TJ won in my mind. Throw people in the mix with Scotty's nation, and it's far too easy for corruption to take place. If you're constantly researching why people make certain decisions, you'll find the answer. Now what does somebody DO with that information? Wouldn't they propagandize anyone and everyone to tow their line, wherever possible? Basically, it's just, "Why do people do 'x', and how can we change them?"

Birds show signs of culture. So do elephants and orangatangs. Some species of birds and elephants make graves, crows pass memories of the faces that capture them from generation to generation, other bird species make giant dowaries that rival human art and sculptures, orangatangs pass the knowledge of making tools to the next generation, elephants pass the knowledge of water holes to the next generation, ect. Also currently half - way done with the video and Scotty already won.

Hmmm, I guess Scotty's vision is marginally better than TJ's, but ultimately I disagree with both philosophical foundations. Neither freedom nor empathy are the best founding principle for a society. I'd always advocate for the UNIMPEACHABLE HUMAN DIGNITY to be the core idea, everything is based on.

Scottys world sounds like a research based safe space where everyone is sensitive and you never tread any topic that might be a little dark whereas TJ’s is about any and all discussion with little regard for feelings but mutual agreement that regardless of differences its only an opinion. In TJ’s world if you cant create change by convincing enough people then your idea doesnt stand up so you should move on whereas scotty is investigating the reason behind these opinions and trying to find the causation first rather than the result. Both have flaws but TJ’s would be much less of a nanny state. Ps easily my favourite episode.

It's pretty disgusting how Paul kept misrepresenting everything that TJ was saying, while handling Scotty with kiddie gloves and pitching him one softball after another. I'd be very disappointed in Paul's handling of the episode if I still had any respect for him, but I realized long time ago that he's an intellectual degenerate.

Y'know, I kinda like the "debate paradise" idea for the entertainment portion. But y'know what would make it more likable to the masses? Instead of just two talking heads going at it, it should be like, "Matt Dillahunty vs. Dinesh D'Souza FULLY RAW!" and they just tackle religious arguments completely naked since nudity on TV would be normalized. Whoever loses (according to a public polling at the time of viewing) can never put clothes on again and has to show their teeny peeny wherever they go. Now, when I weigh both options as a whole, I decided I would prefer to hit the eject button and launch myself onto Mars where I will live out the rest of my day (yes, singular) alone on a cold, alien planet bombarded by radiation until I turn into a pile of carbon sludge and flake off to become part of Mars' barely-existent atmosphere. Only then may I achieve the only dream I could possibly have in a society like Scotty and TJ would want me to live in which is to freeze and become part of Elon Musk's new Mars Polar Ice Cap Ice Cubes. I find being in a glass of water, sipped by some oppressed Earthling, far more preferable to living in either society.

Scotty won as soon as TJ basically said that art wouldn't be valued in his society. Other than that I had them sort of tied, but scotty knows how important art is so a society being livable so Paul was correct.

I too have determined to withdraw my patronage following Paul’s performance on a recent stream in which he placed Sonic in the B tier of a fast food list. He explained that this placing was knowingly inflated in order to reflect the high quality of their drinks, entirely in spite of their food which he described himself as being substandard. He should look at each establishment HOLISTICALLY while compiling these lists and should not discriminate on the basis of a single consideration deemed marginal by many.

Scotty's pitch is filled with platitudes and very rarely did he lay down any practical solutions or implementations. It was mostly "we'll study this and we'll talk to people", and everything is "as much as possible". If we took a shot of vodka every time Scotty said As much as possible, we'd be blacked out half way through the presentation. TJ's pitch has more practical solutions and clear vision and robust answers to the questions posed. Paul the arbiter, misrepresented TJ's policy of dealing with people who break Tijonia's cardinal and possibly only rule, i.e. resorting to violence, where TJ will quash them or deal with them without mercy. See, you have only one rule which is Do No Harm, and if everything is provided for you to have a decent life, and all freedoms are guaranteed, anyone who resorts to violence under these circumstances is obviously a nutjob and liability on the society, and no matter how you try to "study them" as Scotty proposed, you will end up most likely woth one conclusion, that they are a sociopath... Also Scotty didn't offer any solution whatsoever to the question of How will you deal with those who break society's rules or resort to violence... "We'll study them" isn't an answer... and Paul let it pass... which is an indication of flawed arbitration. While TJ offered harsh but clear practical solutions. Which aren't really harsh, given that there is no reason to resort to violence when all your basic rights and needs and freedoms are provided and if you have any opposing views, Tijonia offers ample room for debate and discussion and abiding by the will of the people. And I think Paul was solely sold on Scotty's Entertainment pitch. Which is a cool pitch. But honestly, that isn't the job of the leader of a society to propose how Entertainment goes in their society. It is a great idea that can be implemented in any of those two competing societies. So Scotty can win on best entertainment pitch, but has nothing to do with which society is better. Comrades, I invite you all to join TIJONIA, where leadership has a clear vision, and is there only to ensure your freedom and rights to live in dignity, with minimal intervention. And is there to swiftly deal with any sociopaths who exist only to do harm to others for no reason. Stay away from Scottistan, where they only sell you platitudes in order to trick you into growing your own tomatoes and milk your own cow, so the lazy government takes no responsibility and does nothing other than "Study as much as possible"...

Very close indeed. I, Señor Tomat, have trouble deciding the victor. How I see it is, Scotty's society sounds better, but TJ's is probably more practical. Before I make my proclamation, let me first acknowledge the fact that TJ's society was criticized more than Scotty's society. With a narrow lead, Scotty's society seems preferable to a tomat such as myself. Discussion and empathy would be a great thing to have more of. As a tomat my brothers and sisters of the vine are constantly looking out for their lives. Some heartless people will actually EAT TOMATINOES! I think Scotty's society will create a better understanding of human interest, along with Tomat interests as well.

Scottyland all the way, I actually felt a little inspired listening to him, that kind of community focus with heavy backing behind the arts, science, and research is my kind of shit, feels like a society you could actually contribute to in a meaningful way.
