This is sort of random, but I often feel at a loss as to how I can access information. Often hot or controversial information. I can't decide if my answers are just getting drowned out by Google's algorithm and the payed-for top search results or if some questions just straight up are intentionally suppressed..? Perhaps drowned out by what other people are asking a thousand times more than my question? Is that a thing where search engine companies bury undesirable information? Am I just using search engines wrongs? Another thing is I don't know how to physically do things to enact change. How does one become a part of a social movement? How does one organize a movement and gain traction with it? Do the more peaceful methods of political action result in the change we need right now? I mean we're staring down the barrel of ecological devastation, among other awful things happening recently anyway. I feel that we should as a people discuss the ugly options if or when the peaceful options fail. Don't peaceful protests and coercive action only work if the recipient has some sort of empathy? Personally, I doubt our leadership gives the most micro of fucks about us. At least not as humans. Maybe as a commodity..? Like they might care if a million or a few million people literally starved themselves to death in a hunger strike and they'd be like "Oh nooo the economyyy! Who will make and then buy my baubles now?" Am I looking at this stuff wrong?

One of the best parts about Paul is his openness regarding his mental health. Paul has had the biggest influence on my own mental health, helping me to feel less alone. I went from hating you when you joined DP to greatly appreciating your opinions and perspectives. Last year, I had the most difficult period in my life, and I truly didn't care about life anymore. Now, mind you, I'm too narcissistic and self-serving to kill myself, but the thought passed my mind once or twice. The one thing that didn't change is watching the channel. I'm already cringing at what I'm writing because I have to say, I hate these types of "you guys kept me going through it" messages, but fuck it, I'll say it. From DFF to Abandon Hope to your Cynics vs. Cinema and Highdeology, the content helped at least give me something to listen to and give me a mental escape. I can't say I sympathize with how your mental low, because I don't know what you're feeling exactly, but I do empathize and hope you find the peace you guys helped foster in me. I'm a patron now, and will remain one indefinitely, in no small part because of you.

Life has been a rollercoaster from hell for most of us this year. We are all fighting our own battles and I have been fortunate as well through this, I still have a job, my bills are paid, and no one I know has gotten sick. Although my mom and mother in law both have cancer so added anxiety yay! The biggest problem for me is it's almost impossible to talk to a professional about my mental health. It's a struggle to not let depression take over, and feel the anxiety like I do just being out in out in the world. I feel for you Paul and I know that you already know this and seems so generic to say but we are all in on the struggle together. We will get to the other side of 2020. It's hard to imagine the world ever returning to what it was before, all you can do is roll with the punches. Anyway enough rambling, you guys get me through my days, I look forward to each episode of content y'all put out. My life is better with pessimist productions in it! I've never met you guys but y'all are a welcome voice that I hope to have with me for years to come. I hit a low in the past year in my own mental health as well, I get where you're coming from. COVID-19 did not make it any better and these riots just made it a bit worse. I was fortunate enough to have a job through all this, was encouraged to take the double overtime (up from time and a half) and we all got paid an extra $100 a week for hazard pay + meals paid for by corporate. But for the first two months, it was hell. I had to run the front end of a Home Depot which was riddled with angry crazies who just needed their pandemic amounts of essential paint, mulch, and flooring. When I went on personal strike for mental health, my store manager called me up to make sure I was okay, then worked with me to switch roles to something less stressful. For those very short three weeks, the only thing I really looked forward to was writing music and "when's the next DFF production coming?" because they give me the comfort I need a lot of times. It's been 2 weeks now since I came back and I switched over to building materials and am starting to scrape back whatever bits of my sanity I can off the floor. I'm really glad I could help give a little more peace of mind to someone who needs it and makes me feel like I'm not alone during this whole fiasco. I live just outside Manhattan, I've seen the devastation first hand from the Riots. Fortunately my job also has not been adversely effected, I'm able to work remotely and haven't had any issues with payment. I would always listen during my commute into the city, having not commuted in several months now, I have fallen behind in my viewing. But to me it's just $5, I buy coffee more than once a month. I want to support the people who have given me entertainment for many years. For the longest time I wasn't able to support you guys financially, I've been watching TJ since he started on youtube. This year has been rough for me as well, so trust me when I say I understand how hard it can be. I went through probably the worst depression of my life. For 2 months I dealt with suicidal thoughts every day, and tried to kill myself. I've gotten a lot better the last 3 months, and while I won't lie and say it's all because of your videos, I still appreciate what you guys do.
