I agree with Olberman and Moore morally speaking, but politically speaking it's not the best idea. Aren't liberals dreaming now about TX being blue in the next 20 years? If it was Alabama it would be different, but TX is at least redeemable in theory. But really the argument fails from an epidemiological lens, because letting a virus like this fester anywhere is completely counterproductive. Even after getting the whole US vaccinated, we still have the rest of the world to worry about, letting it get worse here, maybe mutate even more is just fucking stupid policy.
