And about the LA thing lets put it this way. I am from detroit, I lived with andy dick for a few months while going out with his roommate. Even with a frame of reference being from Detroit and being acquainted with homelessness, living out there even in the richest area in west hollywood I have never in my life seen such a MAJOR fucking homelessness problem like I saw every day I walked outside. Between how bad it was before and Covid (they havent been allowed to tear down structures in the streets since.) It is like every block there was at least two encampments (not ever singular) of homeless people. Its ridiculous, if there was trash for take out it would get claimed by a homeless person who'd sleep on anything even mildly soft. I finally realized between all of this and a few other things that California is actually a state for the rich not the liberals. They only at times virtue signal but its all surface level. Also yes Andy is as much of a nightmare to live with as you think he would be lol.

You did not play the full context of the clip. The cop who shot the person did not adequately announce their presence when they arrived at the scene and failed to identify himself as a police officer, and he gave no warning going into the situation. The person being shot didn't seem to even notice the arrival of the cops. Announcing their presence with a couple flash bangs and heavy mace would have made everyone aware of the cop's presence and incapacitate them enough to bring the into custody. I don't think a firearm discharge was a very responsible decision in this situation and it is a sign of poor police training, not necessarily the character of the officer who perpetrated the shooting.

Seeing the orientation of that cop, the person about to be stabbed, and the stabber, those bullets could have easily ripped through the stabber and hurt or kill the person getting stabbeed or ricochet off the car behind them and hit some bystander. Once again, RUBBER BULLETS and bear spray would have resulted in less death. Or just shoot one of those M80 flash bangs out of a grenade launcher.

The reaction to the cop shooting the girl with the knife is pretty ridiculous. I’m not pro police, but I completely agree with Paul here. A lot of anti cop rhetoric is just reactionary. I’ve even see people gleefully post about cops getting killed, which is just inhumane.

When deploying non-lethal weapon police always try to have lethal cover (another officer pointing a gun in case it doesn't work). It also takes much more time to deploy non-lethal weapons vs lethal. Tazers often catch on clothing fabric, and if one of the two prongs doesn't embed into the flesh nothing happens. Using a taser when someone is 2 feet from another pulling back a knife to thrust into the other person would be very disrespectful of the life of the person being stabbed considering the high chance of failure.
