Holy shit i dont think anyone has ever had as many dogshit opinions about movies as tj

DCLUVSPIE

I feel you guys were a little unfair frankly but I love Stephen Soderbergh so I guess that's on me...

Home of da BONE

TJ, you dolt, i gifted you "The Dictator" last September at the NO meetup. fuck me

Gary Czernick

Turns office chair around slowly. Blinks. Stares for a while. "I identified with those characters." Stares for a while. Turns back around slowly in his office chair.

Josh Jerome

You say that now, wait until the Human Root Rot epidemic of 2035

george

Yea I saw Contagion back in March and I thought it displayed so interesting situation that could happen during a pandemic, but the acting was boring from every actor except Judd Law. I think they should have kept the movie as one or two stories to make it a stronger movie. Sergeant Gunny is one of the funniest characters in movie, he has the best insults ever. I do agree with TJ that a lot of war movies do seem to be just about the big battle at the end, but I do agree with Paul and Scotty that there are war movies that are more creative than just a big battle movie like Apocalypse Now.

The issue I have with reviews like this is that what are they even comparing it with? This movie is a statement about a real danger. I think they did a good job with that. BTW the moral of the movie is: STOP CONSUMING ANIMAL PRODUCTS. I'm vegan since years now so I don't contribute to this insanity.

Shrunken Presence

Tj, what about Heartbreak Ridge? It’s got Clint and it’s got very few battle scenes.. it would be a great way to ease into FMJ

Corey

While I agree with certain aspects of Contagion keep it from being a good movie, I didn't hate it as much as the Fat Boys did. I give it major points for being semi-accurate and a great pace. I think the filmmaker's perspective on a virus tale is objective than subjective (getting inside the character's heads more). I don't necessarily think making it a "father-daughter survival story" or "evil general tries to kill people" story would have made it better. Losing certain plot elements would have helped though.

So if I get this straight tj has to prove these movies are bad from a filmmaking perspective but tjs original point is he just doesn’t like it seems a bit one sided

Richard Recar

Jacob’s Ladder (1990)

Carl

This was decent, but I still really miss the full commentaries. Would you guys really get copyright issues with garbage like the Bad Ben series?

More powerful tj

Hey a great topic for this would be the mcu

JDTaylor

You have a bit of a treat coming up for you TJ, Full Metal Jacket is good mate. There might be bits which as a whole turn you off about the movie, but there are amazing scenes in there which just grab you by the balls.

Maya Balsich

Paul and Scotty, you are two cretinous illogical fucks. So when TJ now watches any of your 'foundational' peace of shit elitist wanker movies, his two options according to you both are to either 'love it' or 'be close minded'. Do you guys even listen to yourselves? You're absurd and ridiculous.

Bailey Goldsberry

Hey gord, being able to regard something as being competently done or even beyond that isn’t that hard to come to terms with compared to personal enjoyment. Plenty of people acknowledge Mozart as a genius but how many motherfuckers actually enjoy it unless they are deep music fans? It’s similar to that. Taste isn’t always in line with quality.

Bailey Goldsberry

That movie was called black mass I thought not black September

Phat Man

I watched 7 Samurai because TJ is always talking about it and I loved it. I rarely enjoy movies with subtitles but that one was fucking great.

Edvard Lundgren

Jesus christ TJ is fucking infuriating with his fucking war movie hypocritical bullshit. He says that he doesn't like ANY war movie, and then he goes on to list like 10 war movies that he liked. But he still maintains his point. And every fucking point that the others throw at him he just goes "OK" "UH HUH" "YEAH YEAH". Fucking hell TJ, I love you but this is the most infuriating thing on the internet.

We all no your right Paul.

Doitlive

I'm drowning in content.

The True Nihilist

The only reason I liked this movie is because of its predictiveness. I felt like it wanted to keep everything general so its predictions would be more likely to match whatever pandemic may happen in the future. The scope of this movie was too wide to go deep enough to be compelling. If this pandemic never happened I wouldn't have liked the movie.

David

TJ's taste in movies is just so unusual. Him viewing most well-regarded films as competent, but being personally unable to enjoy it, I just don't get it. It seems like contrarianism.

Josh Jerome

You think this is what Panda breeders feel like?

BangoMike

Really now, when will Paul and TJ fuck already? The sexual tension is unbearable.

Christopher Borra

Think you guys can show screenshots of the movie when ripping on it? Sure might need to take like 50 screens but if it can be done without harming your channel with a strike I'd say it would be a nice addition. Something to look at during the show aside from whatever your personal cameras are streaming.

Christopher Borra

I think i confused this with the movie, Contagious.

Noah Hachey

TJ, watch Come And See. It's the bleakest and arguably most realistic war movie, that really shows the true horror of war. A lot of it is shot like a horror movie to capture that feeling.

Akephalos

Sounds good to me 😉
