14 years ago the landlord company running my building kept my damage deposit cuz the spokes on my dishwasher racks had rusted away. They were rusting when I moved in. I moved across the country so I wasn't in a position to fight them on their decision.

on the point of the land lord who had his property destroyed by the tenant he asked to move out, what do you think would be the insurance companies first move after paying the landlord... suing the ever living fuck out of the tenant that caused the damage. I wish there was a government funded housing option, but at this point in time there isn't, so now this guy is out thousands of dollars because some people decided they wanted to trash the place. I bet they had a place to move too without any issues, probably not as nice but a place none the less.
