I wrote a post on my FB Page regarding the Failure of Quibi. I feel like all of you will get a kick from it. FROM FB POST: I can't disclose much, but I had the chance to make content for this platform back in 2018, before being declined. I assume I am far from the only creator who got declined to make content for this platform, and the reasons basically were "This Can't Sell". I write this not only because I'm laughing at this news (which trust me I am) but because Quibi's Famous Leader played it way too safe while expecting the clout of Hollywood to help him out. Jeffrey Katzenberg amplifies every mindset that sucks about The Hollywood System. And now his reputation has gone down the trash. When Quibi first opened up, I was still excited to see what it could be. I assumed that at least some of the content would be interesting. But as we all know, every show on Quibi was basically Cheap Thrills & Glorifying Hollywood Worship. Basically it was Panderish Trash that expects very little from it's audience. I'm not just laughing because my interesting pitch would have been LEAGUES better than any show on this service, but because the idea of this industry using it's own clout to create half-assed content is biting itself in the ass. The Film Industry can have a bright future after this pandemic if it's new creators respects their audiences and makes content that fulfills creative inspiration, not cheap escapism. As for me, I'm done trying to work within The Proper Film Industry. The future is based around Social Media & Experiential Art anyways. But for those who still have hope that this current Film Market can create meaningful results, please take this Quibi Failure as a lesson. It doesn't matter who is on top of the Ladder, what Legacy they have previously created or what standing they have inside the industry. If one doesn't respect their audiences, their content isn't worth creating. And your audience is ultimately the ones you have to please.

Thanks for giving us a "stop-gap" until a solution is found at a reasonable hour. This Day 1 patron understands. Also to those in the comments fucking with them about the quality: as someone who has continually bitched about quality in years past (issues which the DFF crew eventually addressed through skill or money), I think shitting on them for things like this is a raw deal during the ongoing pandemic, and I imagine many of you have not had the *super pleasant* experience of being in Zoom/etc calls and then editing them after the fact with no sync issues. It can be a *real* bitch. TL/DR: Give the scammers a fucking break, people.
