This turned out to be a great episode, much better than the first one. I was highly critical of Paul in the first part, so I appreciate what he said at the end. My main frustration was with how he treated lesser evil voting as an either or issue: you either vote the democrat or engage in direct action. It's a both and issue to me, you keep the fascist from gaining power and engage in direct action. I don't think you're going to teach the democrats a lesson by withholding your vote. I don't even think the point of playing politics should be to change the DNC. Rather, I think we should focus more on radicalizing the American people. Scotty made a great point with critical thinking, cause most Americans just don't know what the fuck they believe. They don't have the capacity critically examine their core values, so they end up having an incoherent worldview as a result.

I agree. I don't even think a national strike is necessary to put pressure on big pharma. Target big pharma corporate headquarters and CEO private property for property damage, if those CEO's happen to get hurt/killed in the process, it will instill fear into other health insurance/PBM CEOS, which is why I think the only way for them to start changing policies that will keep the average person who needs medical care alive and not bankrupt from medical debt. These fat CEO's must be fearful of their physical safety and fear the masses for them to make decisions that help the populace at the cost of their profits. PS: I think you meant to say 70 k not 70, sacrificing 5k people to save 70 seems not worth. Masses taking into the streets isn't the only way to strike fear into these big pharma fat cats, much more subtle ways such as intimidation, damage to their personal and business property using stealthier methods such as explosives to cause purely property damage or hurt the people responsible for the preventable deaths of 40-60k Americans a year. I am surprised people dying of preventable illness due to lack of insurance/money aren't already doing this, they have literally nothing to lose.

Here is my rather extreme "but true" take. 65K to 70K or more people in America die painful horrific deaths EVERY SINGLE YEAR because big pharma would rather them be dead than not be able to rip them off anymore. Violence against a person may (at least in some part) be brought about by their personal traits- more likely so if they are historically or currently marginalized in your community- but those traits may also have no bearing at all. Is this nuance properly addressed with more in-depth education on the subject?

One of the biggest problems of these police brutality protests/riots is that the property damage is not targeted at symbols of oppression. So much collateral damage to businesses that have nothing to do with police brutality will lose the support of the general populace unless the majority of the population lacks a necessity for life such as food, water, or shelter.

Material conditions won't be right for revolution until there is literally no food, the majority of the country is homeless and the country is so bankrupt it can't maintain its police or military to the point that they can't deal with every local civilian militia that pops up across its territory. Maybe one of those little chiefdoms will develop an actual socialist government and if we are incredibly lucky that little socialist fiefdom will become the dominant state in North America, which I doubt because violent autocratic states are more likely to wipe out the less violent ones.

I must say, this is a much better episode. I will still state that Paul still had some underlying issues concerning his views in voting in the previous episode. But it seems like it wasn’t as huge of a scuffle in the long run as it seemed on that episode. I have a theory titled “The Comfort Complex”, which I actually also thought up after talking with Galen (on Twitter, not IRL) a couple of years ago. It’s a theory that will piss off this fan base, not just annoy them. It will talk about everything that is wrong with Modern Human Thought & what we need to do to ultimately fix it. Im sure Paul will get a kick out of seeing a fan member get crucified like he did last Friday. But I will write up about it on the community tab so that it doesn’t penetrate the discussion like my last post did. Expect it later this week. Otherwise, great episode. Sorry I ever doubted anything, you all seem to be doing very well.
