Hunter Killer was the sub movie with Gerard Butler. That one was OK but the one Paul was thinking of with Jude Law is called Black Sea and was really good. Also, an excellent non-fiction sub book is ‘Escape from the Deep’ by Alex Kershaw. It’s about the USS Tang which sank off the coast of China in WW2 and a few guys actually survived by making it to the surface using rebreathers only to spend the rest of the war in a Japanese POW camp. Really crazy true story.
