I guess maybe someone in that position who has the right sense of humor would recognize the absurdity of a lackluster suicide prevention hotline. The way I imagined it while reading your comment was like a comedy sketch lmao

Dude one time I called a suicide prevention line (idk which just whatever popped up) and it was the weirdest experience. Like first of all they need to know if they need to send someone to you and I was like "no I just need to talk" and the lady argued with me "well, you kinda called our number so clearly you need something sent..? Let me transfer you (to someone who can waste their time on this)" then I got transferred to an entirely different state, and they were like "uhh idk what's happening I'm transferring you" and then I reached a third person who was sorta okay, saying generic "that sucks" or "deep breaths" and by that point I was just tired and kind of amused at this whole sequence of events? Like good lord if I was someone who had a gun to my head, the last defense just failed spectacularly. Buut I guess at least "someone" answered...? idk Anyway, charity is good to do lol
