Love addiction, like sex addiction is something that usually occurs in someone with a very low self-esteem. Often times these people self-medicate the problem by hiding it with achievements etc. In some instances it is like a workaholic. These people fall apart after breakups for years in some cases because the relationship and the affirmation they recieve from it is the only thing propping up their sense of self-value.
