Ya'll remember that whole question about if art imitates life or if life imitates art? I think it's both. In this case, it could easily be the former. Artist intent concerns the artist. How art is interpreted concerns it's role in the real world. I think TJ makes very valid points here and Paul is just overly defensive and salty as shit. Like, you can like somthing and still acknowledge where there might be problematic influences on it. That's part of growing the fuck up bud

You are conflating "woman" with FEMALE (or "biological woman" in your terms). If ever there comes a time where you can understand the difference between a social role/identity and a biological identity, you will understand why it IS absolutely anti-trans. not in the "lets minecraft them" kind of way, but in the "you don't have the right genitals to act/dress/talk this way" kind of way. It's incredibly dismissive to say the least, and what sucks is that it seems you aren't even aware of it. That being said, totally agree with you on goblins being too similar to Jewish caricatures thing though. I can see Paul's side, where he doesn't really wanna think about it that way cuz it would ruin his engagement with lots of media that incorporate goblins, but if we're being real about it....yeah. They certainly have the appearance of being a dog-whistle/wink and nod to Jewish stereotypes.

Idk seems pretty clear to me. Those Goblins have multiple Jewish stereotypes and one thing about a caricature is that it is not implicitly obvious. I agree that JKR gets too much vitriol over being a "terf" but that's not really anti-trans. It's quite clear that her comments about trans women not having the same biological needs as a biological woman should be considered is not anti-trans. It's a fact.
