The RailCore used 6061 T6 for their beds. I believe others are using aluminum but the RailCore is definitely a machine I know many speak highly of. Here is a link to their bed assembly: https://www.filastruder.com/collections/railcore/products/railcore-ii-300-zl-zlt-metal-baseplate

Thanks for the update. I really appreciate the work you do. I use my tools as a way to connect with kids. I am trying to inspire the little makers of the world. I will check out the Ft-t from Folgertech. As for the larger print bed, Can I use G-10 as a heated bed? What is the ideal bed made from? I can cut most materials on my Cnc mill or Cnc router. Thanks again

Hey buddy! I thank you very much for the support! I wanted to let you know that I added your name to the end of my videos and you will be included in my official Patreon supporters for tomorrows video. With regards to the mod you are looking to accomplish you certainly could extend the aluminum extrusions as that is something others have done with their Creality or similar machines. The main issue I see is finding a bed large enough for what you want. The extrusions shouldn't be difficult to source but it may take a bit to find where you can get a bed large enough. There are large machines out there though it may be worth looking into the FT-5 from FolgerTech. Might be cheaper to go with that machine and mod it versus the Ender 5 Plus since you would really only be keeping a few things on this machine. Changing the printer size in Cura is not problem and can easily be edited. I actually had to get rid of my Ender 5 Plus. My recording and printing studio is currently in the living room which greatly hinders what machines I can hold onto. (No where to store them). I hope that helps pointing you in the right direction. Cheers!
