A New Chapter

There have been some big changes in my personal life that I wanted to update you all with. As of today, August 23rd, I am officially a full-time self employed Content Creator. This is something that has been on the horizon to an extent for some time now, but I did not think it would happen quite yet. A new policy was put in place at my day job that conflicted with my ability to create content online and on my channel. So I was ultimately tasked with a choice of either giving up the freedom of my channel or parting ways with my day job. This was not an easy or fun situation to be presented with and created many sleepless nights for me. Ultimately, I chose to carry on with online content creation and my channel. I have poured so much of myself into my channel over the past decade and feel I owe much of who I am today to it.
From friends, knowledge, and personal growth, to an amazing community of creative individuals I am honored to be able to share my experiences with. I know that I thank you all at the end of each video but I once again want to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for believing in me and directly supporting my journey.
Alright, with that news I did also want to cover what all of this means for the channel. Well the good news is I am going to have much more time for shooting, editing, scripting, and experimenting. There will be no change from the Saturday video that I have been able to stick with for about 90 weeks now (Wohoo!). On top of that, I will be working on creating content on other platforms as well. The plan/likelihood is that content output will increase in either the form of a second video per week or streams as well. Since this just happened I am skeptical to jump into a new schedule until I get a feel for how things are over the next couple of weeks. However, when I do get something and commit to it I will of course let you all know.
I have been wanting to expand my personal knowledge in 3d modeling, electronics, and programming, so I will be taking time each week to study and practice which will then all be brought back to the channel. I am excited and of course a bit nervous but looking forward to spending more time on doing what I love. For anyone that is familiar with Lord of the Rings, it feels a lot like when Frodo and Sam leave the Shire with the ring. This is a new chapter for me and for the channel which I am very much looking forward to.

Phil, thank you very much for all of the kind words and for believing in what I am trying to do. I strongly believe that most situations that are tough do end up leading to all sort of growth and new opportunities. I am going to do my absolutely best to focus on the positives and keep putting one foot in front of the other. I am really looking forward to having more times for awesome projects that I will be able to work on. You rock! I really appreciate the membership and anything really does help. It certainly is not something that is expected. Keep being awesome :)

I absolutely support people who are willing to take a chance in life. I myself have gone through these decisions and most have ended up where I am (was, since I'm semi retired now.) I was a Pizza delivery guy, went on to program for a small private airline then wound up back at the restaurant where I delivered to become a cashier. Didn't pay a lot, mostly my cigarettes (quit since 1998) but, when my shift ended, I'd hang around at the bar in the restaurant and chatted with the patrons when one day, one guy came in and asked if I knew a technician who would work for him and I said "ME" and he was surprised thinking I was just a programmer. I told him I did most everything when it came to computers. He hired me at 7.00 per hour, a month later 8.00 and every month till I reached 13.00 per hour (in 1995.) When I joined, he had one employee in receiving/shipping and I was the second hire. My task was to fix remote car starters that came back from clients (we designed and built them, his design was made by a partner who had quit to get a job.) I had to reverse engineer the product since there were no schematics. Eventually, I started to program controllers as remote starters (the original was discreet using 555 timers.) At one point, another company created a controller version using motorola controllers which became a nightmare because Motorola started keeping their chips for their new cell phones (Mid 1990's) so, we had a remote starter board with no CPUs - I designed a plug in replacement using another chip (not as well known.) I was head of programming and design after we grew from 2 employees to over 50 inside of 7 years. The owner didn't want to manage the employees or manage the day to day operations and so, I took over those tasks. I created departments and assigned department heads, created the inter department communications, kept key employees from leaving etc. etc. etc. I wound up making 1225.00 per week so, if you plan things right or are at the right place at the right time, you too can do great things and, I do believe you're the type to do it. You're young and have lots of time to do things. Because you're taking a chance, I've upped my membership. It's not much but, I'm semi-retired and, are in the process of building a flight simulator cockpit. Keep up the great work.
