Tom Waits registered a few new songs for copyright last year, so he’s still making music. Problem is, you can tell over the past few years that his voice has gotten raspier as a byproduct of aging and having spent decades drinking and smoke (since the age of 13). As such, singing is clearly a more laborious task for him, and acting is an easier way to be artistically expressive.
