Being single for almost a decade now...yeah. In STEM there are like 100 men per woman. And they are never single. Work all week and meet a new woman maybe every year or two at a conference. It's not about sex. You can get a flight and get laid on demand with enough income. It's about being loved or finding a partner, which is increasingly difficult post-internet. If you are mentally ill, disabled or living paycheck to paycheck -- you will die alone. It's just probability. There are too many undesirable men for each woman.
