I was in Boogies place. But now I'm doing things I never thought I could do just 2 years ago. All it took was reframing, changing my disabilities from a wall to a hurdle. Changing "I can't because of these" to "I can, but I need help with these, and that's OK". It really isn't as hard as Boogie makes it sound.

I don't quite remember but I think they said in an announcement that you'd only have to sign up for the $35 tier for four months out of the year, and you can go back to the $7 tier for the rest of the year if you want. I think. If that is the case I think thats reasonable.

So after tax (25%) you pay an additional 33% to rent. Trip over that line? 25% tax but now rent is $1400/mo for a one-bedroom. Nobody I know has new phones, cars, apartments. Nothing. If you're single, you're one medical bill away from the rope or the street. So $20 an hour, that's decent for a shit job right? Let's be fair and say you make 42k pre-tax. That's 31.5 after. More than half to rent, just because you make a little more. So not considering insurance, a car (needed in suburban areas without transit on side-roads), food etc. You have $1200 a month to spend "freely". You have kids? Get sick? Good luck. As someone who majored in Finance in college and used to work as a data analyst for a major financial company, the net worth calculation for boogie was wrong and made a basic accounting error. Basically, it's market value/price - outstanding liabilities/debt = home equity. If Boogie has $ 165,000 in a mortgage outstanding and $105,000 in home equity those two don't zero out, that $105,000 is positive towards his net worth. That means his house is worth around $ 270,00 so: $ 270,000 - $ 165,000 = $ 105,000. His true net worth calculation should be: $ 105,000 (equity) + $ 2,700 (cash) + $ 30,000 (crypto) + $ 29,500 (collectibles) - $ 700 (debt = $ 179,700 net worth: which puts him at 44th percentile for his age range: https://dqydj.com/net-worth-by-age-calculator/ . I don't know if Boogie made this mistake purposefully or if he just lacks the financial literacy for honest accounting, but someone making the documentary should've caught that. To anyone with any sort of financial literacy this documentary will just make them seethe as to how not only did this guy piss away a lot of money, but he's still in a lot better of a situation than a lot of people.
