Server Adventures
🕑 Added 2016-01-06 22:08:45 +0000 UTC Hey guys, Vechs here. I want to keep you updated on my quest to set up a server for us. I sent in a ticket to MCProHosting support on Jan. 3rd and they never replied to me. Then I Tweeted to their support account that I had emailed them, and also got no response. Then later I tweeted I was shopping around for a server and their main Twitter account replied to me saying that they could help. I then explained the situation about never hearing back from them, and emailed a specific guy on their team (Matt) who said he'd get everything sorted for me.
I have yet to hear back from any of their accounts or email addresses.
At this point, the only thing this company has done is waste my time and delay a server getting setup for us.
It's not all bad though, because it's given me more time to think, and maybe we shouldn't be doing a vanilla server. There are so many of them already out there, and other Mindcrackers, I believe, run vanilla sub servers already.
So the question is this-- do you guys really want a vanilla Minecraft experience, or something else, anything else, doesn't matter what. (Could be a custom map or mods or both or who knows) We'll worry about what that something is at the next phase of voting.
So vote! :D
PS -- Anyone have suggestions for a hosting company that actually responds to emails?

I don't mind vanilla, as long as its 1.9. Its one thing to play 1.9 in a single player world, its quite another when there is PVP involved, which is what the update was made for. I voted for a non vanilla server, only if it is light mods. I have never really been one fore the whole "completely different game within a game" thing. That is what having heavy mods that changes the game mechanics does. Now if there was a mod like the Aether mob, where it adds more realms to the game, I am down for that.
I have had a few Minecraft Servers hosted over at fragnet.net. I haven't had any bad issues that they haven't cleared up yet.
