Mike Rowe is a capitalist tool that is anti-union, anti-worker, and anti-saftey regulations in some areas which is insane. Their can be situations like I've been in where wearing a safety harness, for being above 4ft off the ground can, in a confined space where your on top of metal framing that you can't possibly fall through while also being hooked up to a safety line where a safety crew can use a handle to wench and pull you out if you become unconscious somehow, which will pull you across all that metal that has open spaces and spots that will hurt you when being pulled out can be worse possibly. The confined space was totally fine with oxygen levels and was constantly monitored with a oxygen and other gases monitor. Other than that, I can't say theirs been anytime where safety might have went overboard in a way and that's still not to say it wasn't needed but Mike Rowe has went further than that by saying safety should be third in line. He, in total, is against labor while being for the morbidly wealthy capitalists. You never see him on any pro union or left wing shows and I would love to hear his thoughts on democratizing the workforce. Think he would like workers owning or at least having a say in everything that goes on where they work including voting for bosses? When I say workers owning, that also includes management that's lower and upper level and the former ceo and/or owner who used to be the king or queen of that place. Everyone is apart of a workplace, their shouldn't be any antagonism between the different jobs once everyone owns it and has a say and their is no class at that point with the profit after expenses going to everyone fairly instead of one person or a few people that dont deserve that much. Mike Rowe and all the other right wing scumbags should not know any peace when out in public. They should be shouted down and yelled at and be constantly questioned on their terrible policies. I would go further than that as what to do but me myself and for others, I can't say that but most of us who have been around since Reagans policies took effect and the horrible decades we went through as leftists to get to where we are now know that voting only does so much and when time isn't on your side in so many ways, what else do you have to do? I wasn't left wing in the 90s and early 2000s and even then I thought that if I was left wing at that time, it would have been very depressing since all you had were centrist democrats and right wing in some areas of policy. Even now Bernie or the Justice Democrats are not against capitalism, they have a better version of it but it still involves exploitation and profit being the main driver but not as bad and profits being distributed more fairly than now. We have a long way to go before we have a party or group of people that are against capitalism and have any power. We can't become like the Soviet Union or China with less freedoms though. If we take our freedoms and mix that with socialist and communist economic policies with some of the good aspects of capitalism, we will have a superior system and one day will have a world similar to Star Trek, with no money,class,poverty, and bigotry. Maybe the tech will come too but that remains to be seen. Possibly technology will phase capitalism out of existence as well but that might be too far into the future. Regardless, our descendants will look upon us with horror as we do with the dark ages, thinking how could we enslave ourselves with a money system and class system that made a tiny upper class that was propped up by us in the lower class.

Mine and your stories are very similar. I've been a certified combination welder,state and AWS, for over 20 years now, started at 17-18. I've welded almost every metal, welds have held 10s to 100s of tons of weight whether crane or pressurized pipe and been in extremely dangerous work environments and situations that stayed within safety regulations but I have seen and done things that wouldn't have been but still did it as safely as I could and not recklessly. Been a Forman over a crew for years and safety once. Traveled the country and can still say that the wages that were advertised never came. Of course that's due to right wing economic policies and the lack democratizing the workforce, not my lack of trying since Ive worked my ass off and theirs no debate with that if you knew me or see me working, not bragging. To get the wages they say, you will need to become your own business/contractor while still getting screwed over. This is very important work since keeping power on and various other things that keep society running require welding and everything else that goes with construction and maintenance. Capitalists have to be taken out as we know it currently. I'm getting ready to leave welding to put my time to good use since all my years of experience have showed me these things, I'm going to be working for a Union, not as a welder but in the union itself. The health effects of the work environments I've been in and the amount of non regulation not requiring n95 masks or respirators is insane. If you stay in this type of work and don't take care of yourself or even if you still do, you more than likely will come out the other end a wreck of a body and mind possibly. You can take the chance and maybe turn out fine but once it's gone, theirs no pay or pat on the back from a boss or anyone that can help you get it back. Hopefully robots and AI take over these jobs so we don't have to sacrifice our bodies for little pay compared to what the owners are taking after the profit, which is insanely unfair. Especially once you know you are being paid around 200-2000 dollars an hour by the company you work for and only see a tiny fraction of that pay from the company. Fuck capitalism and let's democratize the workforce so one day us or our descendants will have a world with no money,class,poverty, and bigotry.

Also, to be honest if it was just done casually it wouldn't be an issue. However, when certain people make a concerted effort to share members only content we have to take reasonable measures to protect the value for thousands of people who do pay and support us. Obviously there is no perfect solution and we get that but with Patreon rolling out native video support it just makes sense to take this step.

Have you tried putting your patron RSS feed link into a podcast player like Google or Apple Podcasts? That would allow you to listen to the audio with more freedom if you don't care about the video as much.
