TJ, if you're going to drink light beer, at least make it a Modelo, Miller, or Michelob. xD German imports like Weihenstephaner or Spaten Oktoberfest are excellent. Personally, Devil's Backbone is my favorite. I know you hate Texas like me, but the Texas Renaissance Festival is open starting October and they are the biggest renfest in the nation. I highly recommend their Dragonslayer mead on the tap.
