And? This has been happening with automation for the past 4 decades. Regular workers just don't see it. Most megacorps want to maximize profits. How? Reduce medium-skilled labor. How? Making managers manage multiple shifts and teams. Making engineers and programmers work double or triple hours to make deadlines just because they can "achieve" the same results as an extra hire. A few people have heart attacks? Cost of business. A few departments get moved overseas? Not our problem. C-suite doesn't care. Much more rampant since COVID, but definitely not because of AI. It's because of business operations, guidance and management viewing us as 'disposable'.

You guys may not believe Ai is stealing jobs but it 100% is in the illustration market. Already companies aren't hiring and are switching. It's incredibly damaging and will only get worse; just because it's not your industry doesn't mean you get to say "I don't believe it". It's very sad seeing how it's already effecting talented graduates and once well employed seniors.

I was loving the episode until the AI discussion I’m kind of confused on you guys’ positions. Surely you know Ai is already taking jobs, it’s not a hypothetical. The vast majority of artists, designers, musicians, etc. making a living are not rich or famous. To suggest that they’ll be replaced by ai only if they’re not good or unique enough is hogwater. Most artists don’t get paid for their unique vision, they’re paid to do specific jobs. corporations are to blame, but that’s the point. They’re using ai to replace jobs, were on the same page. We want regulation. It’s good and all to hope for a future with ubi or whatever, but I can’t blame people who are currently struggling for wanting change now.
