Paul, I kinda get what you mean about your dad. My dad just this January sent me photos of these two vehicles that were involved in a major wreck, which included a foster brother. Normally that wouldn’t be an issue, but he sent it almost to the minute of the tenth anniversary of my mothers death. She died after being treated for her severe injuries following a car accident when a transport came across the road and plowed right into us. I was in that vehicle and tried to give her first aid. This is all just to tell you the severity of how big of a douchebag and ignorant fuck he is. They split when I was 4-5, and he basically took little to no part in my upbringing, despite my efforts to try reach out and his living about 5 minutes away. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to cut them off, and I have multiple times with my dad, and reopened communications. For me, it’s pain, but I do it because I feel obligated. Maybe it’s the same for you, but just try take stock of how you feel in the days following those interactions where he disappoints you, like when he forgets your experience being carjacked. Take care dude, glad you’re doing much better with the c-pap machine and love the RV idea.
