Well if you recall they used to do much less political content. They had two long form traditional episodes a week on fun and interesting topics and one brief news show mid week called flash fried that was filled with a variety of news stories (only some of which were political). Then they would also do a movie commentary once a month. The golden age. Now it’s just a political podcast with some occasional side content

I consume political shit like an addict. It does really stress me out sometimes, so I get where you are coming from. However, these guys have always heavily covered political topics. I don't think you are gonna be able to change anything about that unless they see it is more financially beneficial to not cover politics, which I doubt will ever be the case on the internet.

I really think you guys wouldnt have disagreed with vaush about yemen had you heard his whole argument. He basically argued that the houthis are disingenuously using the palestinian genocide as an excuse to enact piracy in international waters on any ships passing through the red sea, including civilian cargo ships. This piracy is not a blockade nor is it targeted solely at israeli ships, they are just sending drones and missiles and raids at any ship that passes by. He called hasan an idiot for believing that the actions of the houthis were genuinely them trying help gaza and believing that they were actually going to change anything. Vaush's argument also did not enable US neocolonialism and economic dominance of other countries, as he points out many if not most member states of the UN condemned the houthis for their actions including Russia and China. Vaush also argued that this will likely not lead to another war in the middle east as the US is only using missile strikes (that btw as far as i know havent killed any civilians yet) and there hasnt been any boots on the ground because the Biden admin would need congressional approval for that.

I was specifically talking about the whole "isreal mass murder of civilians in gaza is unprecedented" that came up and then caused Paul to go off on some chatter simply because they didn't specify that they meant "unprecedented in recent times" and not in the whole history of mankind. When Scotty digged into the claim, he found that there is context for it. However, Paul's response was uncharitable. This behavior towards fans is toxic, and we clearly have different perspectives on this. As someone who has been following since the DP days, I've noticed that Paul has a tendency to be contrarian and hostile, which can be unpleasant to watch or listen to, depending on his mood or mental health. Also what about the vaush segment, where paul just straightout lied and said vaush is unwilling to criticize ANY bad things about US goverment. hyperbole much? Im really sorry if this comes off as negative but I hate the political content. I don’t even disagree with most of your opinions but it’s always either repeats of points that you guys have made a thousand times, vitriolic arguments with the chat, or doomerism/ rage filled rants. Almost every other kind of content you guys cover is thousands of times more interesting and pleasant and gives the hosts a much better energy because they talk about things they’re passionate about or can relate life experience to rather than political shmucks no one cares about like John Federman
