My anecdote: I come from a line of divorcees, literally my dad, his dad and grandfather were all divorced and remarried. I believe my father was irresponsible and impulsive, yet I don’t blame him for his incompetence. Like I said, he was from a broken household too, had adhd, I could go on. I took your original comment as painting all men in a negative light for no reason. I do agree with your point on how people really need to be more responsible in this world. It bothers me that people think they can throw away or walk away from their responsibilities. However, the statistic you cited is caused by numerous forces in society, media, culture, and of course economics like you said. it is just simply not a function of men spending their money on other stuff.

The point is that men, like me, need to take care of others and their kids, including those who are less likely to be financially successful. You tell me where our money goes, because I would rather put money and resources in people in need, like that statistic than many other options we have in our economy.
