The crocodile intelligence story is kinda creepy. We don't really examine the behavior of wild animals too closely, or how our behavior affects them. I wouldn't be surprised if we are inadvertently accelerating the evolution of certain species. For example, deer. In the northeast, they're like roaches. Everyone knows someone who's hit a deer. And in the past 5 years, nobody I know has hit a deer. They're still around, but now they actually wait for the cars to go by. It's strange. They'll also run out of harm's way when they see cars coming, which never used to happen.
