They're really not two different things at all. One is a result of the other. Securing the boarder ultimately leads to draconian measures to detain and deport. Securing the border can't be accomplished without detaining and deporting immigrants in inhumane ways and Bernie knows this therefore Paul hasn't misrepresented what Bernie said.

Why is Paul misrepresenting what Bernie is saying by a large mile? Securing our borders so it’s harder for undocumented immigrants to get in illegally and deporting them in inhumane ways are two totally different things.
