🕑 Added 2025-07-10 08:49:02 +0000 UTCjust wanted to share my first sketch drawn while medicated on ritalin! i’ve been going thru ADHD coaching for a year that has been very useful but not useful enough to help overcome all the struggles that came with sitting still and concentration… so this panel means a lot bc rn it’s my first one medicated and it’s been… there’re no words.
the 7 ongoing conversations in my head went down to one, concentration doesn’t feel like torture now, my lines are decisive and cleaner, less confused, and i am able to resist all the intrusive thoughts, fidgeting and side quests in my head to play games, snack, watch youtube videos, online shop, and chat with my friends and family instead of sitting down to work for the first time?
for the first time, my head is able to say “okay, let’s do that after we get this done” and i’m able to actually feel in control of my commitments at the present. i just wanted to share this experience here… hehehe. and i’m so glad that it’s a panel of kageyama that accompanied me on this one which i was actually quite scared of bc i heard of artists whose creativity dulled bc of medications, who got more depressed or felt out of control of their emotions. but i feel so empowered rn. thankyou for reading!

yeah its so normal for us with ADHD to be labeled as simply "rowdy" "creative" or "scatterbrained" our whole lives only to finally be seen after struggling for decaddes!! im so glad this wasnt your case and you got the help u needed early!!!! love u abby!! 💖

Happy for you!! I’ve been medicated for my adhd since elementary school. I can’t imagine the struggles people have to go through for so long before finding what’s right for them!

At first I doubted the power of adderall but I did a draw this in your style challenge once off meds and the same one again medicated and it still blows my mind how much clearer my art is when I’m on meds.
