You feel things are rushed?! lol Meanwhile I'm over here wondering when Kai won't again be forced by circumstance into yet another crisis so that he can finally work on improving his profession to Orange/Yellow. Not to mention get back on track with his original intentions on the mainland.

I love this story but... are we rushing everything here? The interactions between people feel almost comical in that each character represents their role in progressing the plot while coming across exactly as dastardly as they need to be storywise. I know there's been assholes in the part complaining the story is slow but this can't be the solution right?

I disagree about the critique that the plot is repetitive. For me it feels as if this is the nature of the world. There is no way in a world like this for a state to get a monopoly on violence. Look at Kai. Some random kid has the combat strength of a platoon of normies. Everyone is Pavlovian trained to feed ambition and risk taking by the system. It makes sense that political entities would be unstable. I hope that the author will evolve Kai from a rather Disney like view of how powerful people are going to be jerks. There have been many good nods that his thinking is more sophisticated. The general. His old mentors. It seems better thought through than “anyone high up in the current hierarchy is just a jerk because they are powerful”. Given that there seems like an endless frontier (although filled with danger) I’m sort of surprised malcontents aren’t funneled out of the system. Are you ambitious and want a place for you to lord over? Go settle a chunk of jungle etc. This world has a huge capacity to channel the ambitious in directions that avoid internal strife. Anyway, the thing that I am most noticing in this chapter is how Kea probably should have died before Kai got back. She must have a really high favor to or be siphoning off some of Kai’s. She would have died like six times without Kai there in just these few chapters. How did she not get killed in the preceding years given her behavior.

It sounds like you haven't cared for this story since the beginning. The only issue I have is the author never really SHOWED why Kai should be afraid of the Republic. A bit late, but if one of his childhood friends became really skilled because of his help "disappeared" to become a "slave" by the Republic, then that would justify his caution.

Thanks for the chapter! Have to agree with people that its getting a tad bit predictable its always some dark and powerhungry bastard in power manipulating and Kai stumbling upon it and just happens to thrash the plan even though the forces against are like ten times as strong. It's not deus ex machina there are reasonable explanations for the outcomes pretty much everytime, but... That still doesn't change the fact that it feels ridiculous all the same to see him stumble from being taught by super strong Mages, to being undercover from the republic for fear of them enslaving him or something, then he suddenly uncovers ancient teleporting ruins and kills the way too strong sea snake, escalating into him doubleplaying and entire country and a literal god of space for the most dangerous ruins/place in the whole area, THEN he ends up having to almost personally duel a beast capable of fighting entire platoons of republic soldiers, which is again followed by him spending 2 years in an area more dangerous harmful and valuable than almost anything even on the continent and just as he comes back he again needs to do some scheming trying to lie low again to "dodge the repuclics eyes" it was sooo stupid to as if his "island princess sponser" couldn't have just paid for an airship trip his story made him seem super valuable already after all, and then boom ship attacked by Pirates nominally under republic employ but actually a super strong cult stretching the entire country if not beyond and the attack force had a GREEN leader, entrance Oraine the next impossibly strong and uncontrollable variable, insane heritage ridiculous powers unlimited money but of course also needs to go undercover because mommy and daddy are probably something like god king and queen of the sea and would bring him back otherwise lol... And now his sister acts like a brash teen without regard for her own or his safety and boom again they're embroiled with that insane cult nice! And since the "praetor" already KNOWS what "happens in this town" even killing the probably peak yellow or even half step green "Grunt" won't do anything really the Praetor will still know about them and want to tie up loose ends for sure!
