I imagine the goal to be something along the lines of Elijah having a Reward if Kai Graduates with a certain set of class credits. It would tie in well with Elijah formally adopting Kai as his Apprentice and current Heir once his house is no longer under threat of assassination.

His frustration started with losing his dad, But he only really started rushing right after escaping the spatial relam when his sister disappeared. He hasn't had the chance to actually relax or slow down since. What he really needs is a challenge to complete, most of his problems are resulting from having no long term plan or purpose. When he learned runes it was so he could make his families life easier, when he was in the spatial realm he gained massive experience while fighting to get home, when he grew more magically powerful it was while fighting to save his sister and friends. Now he has no purpose, needs or major desires and he doesn't know how to grow stronger without the stress of the clock fighting against him. He needs a short term goal, something that has actual impact without requiring him to put his life on the line.

Thanks for the chapter! Glad Val managed to talk some sense into him. Maybe Kai can learn to use Words of Power later on, after he’s improved on his major elements? He does mention an advantage that it gives him in that it lets him use his minor elements more easily. He does have 6 minor ones so it has to be useful Also, in this chapter the professor for Words of Power is named Verelune but in 381 her name is Almelune. Is it a mistake or did you change it?
