So the relationships in this show go Pilar - Felix - Lake - Lucy - Andrew - Mia - Victor - Benji/Rahim. It's like the writers asked how can we get all these characters into relationships with each other.

I know I'm commenting late here, since I'm catching up with all the early full/uncut reactions, but anyway: I think the reason there was bad communication last season and better communication this season is that the characters are growing and learning things like talking to each other. When you go from season to season here, you see progression throughout. And I think that as this season goes on, despite a misstep or two, you'll see that happening. And things that don't seem to make sense now will eventually make sense. I can't say much more and avoid spoilers, but I think the whole series does hang together in a way you can't really see until the end.
