When Wille asked why he got rid of Simon’s song and asks “So not because of him?” and then the guy says nothing I think that silence speaks volumes. So it kinda was because of Simon. The queen does put her child first but that child is Erik not Wille. She hasn't put Wille first, she made him lie about him in the video because "It was the only way to give Eriks death any meaning."

I think we see a lot of growth in both Simon and Wilhelm in this episode, but especially Wille. He's bottled up his feelings so much, since as you say, he has no one to talk to, and the therapist does help by showing him that he does have a choice, even though he doesn't think so. And I very much agree with Maria above about August. I think his feelings about Sara are real. His worst instincts continue to get the better of him, and the majority of what he does is inexcusable, but the fact he can feel affection for Sara makes him more of a believable character, since most of us are a combination of good and bad characteristics.
