Personally I'm all for you swapping to Blender if it'll ease up on your frustrations. Plus I know the animations that will come from it will be even more ridiculously amazing.

Secazz

I didn't plan on it, but maybe in the future if there is interest. I am a little hard pressed to come up with a narrative for it.

Secazz

I should clarify, I just simply forgot to mention it. I wanted to leave it for last considering I have to completely redo cia since I've obtained an actual model for her. I am not too worried about animation since I have a working 5 second loop it's just everything else needs to be broken down to the fundamental level. Of course I am not stopping completely for sfm I know for sure I won't be proficent quick enough to make large step of make larger projects with blender for awhile. so I'll still be using sfm for larger works for awhile.

On the bright side, I can think of another animator who uses Blender for most of his work, and has done several large projects, so he'd probably be a good source of information for you: Guiltyk

Oops, looks like the mobile submission form cut off my reply...which I only just noticed now, ofc... *sigh* Crap. Well, I forget my exact wording, unfortunately, but the gist of it is that if you feel you need to take a break by switching to blender periodically, I have no issue with that, especially if it's in preparation for eventually switching over entirely -- it'd mean that you'd be able to better use what you're learning from the Blender research and experimentation in the meantime. That being said, switching over flat-out seems like it would be a mistake, because you don't know nearly as much about Blender as you so about SFM, (at least that's what I've inferred from your phrasing), so swapping almost entirely would make a hefty bottleneck in your work to begin with, and I remember you saying a while ago that not putting out much work also made you feel not so great, which is sorta what I'd expect to happen if you abprubtly switched your main means of producing animation. So I guess I'm saying I recommend trying to achieve balance first, then aim for shifting to Blender over time.

Curious about that 2e(B)ony video. Is that a medium sized video as well? Would love to see that as well.

Sorry to ask given how you've said you're feeling, but...the longer project with Zelda/Cia/Midna -- is that still on the table? Been really looking forward to that since you first announced it...

Hey, if you still wanted to continue that Zelda/Groose project - you know where to find me, Sec. I've got a couple other ideas under my belt we can discuss one day when we're both free. :)

Secazz

I got a lot a love and hate for that one haha. It's drawn and written down on my notepad but I'll try write/draw it in a digital format to share in discord tomorrow.

The mamba

That's awesome to hear. I personally always prefer something with a story. Think thats what made your link/zelda videos so legendary in the community. The animation was good of course but the dialogue/story was what made it so hot. Excited for the cammy project

Secazz

That is correct, I have a story board outline for it rather than a fire from the hip approach I usually use.

The mamba

Definitely pumped for the cammy queen of spades video. Especially since there will be a cinematic approach and seemingly a story line! So had to vote for medium projects first
