I admit what I particularly enjoy about this story is that the Slytherins are not all being shown as bullies and low intelligence thugs. Granted, there is a tendency for them to play those roles but much of that is the result of few encouraging them to do more than settle for the popular stereotypes. (This particularly includes Snape who cannot see beyond his own guilt and prejudices.) It's not that I want them to do evil things so much as that, if they do something others think is cruel and evil, it should be for a reason beyond 'I'm Slytherin and therefore cruel and evil.'

Harry being a Parselmouth is bound to spread like wildfire, at least within Slytherin. It’s going to make year 2 very interesting for sure. But the first snake has already dropped a few hints about the Chamber and the Basilisk
