But my recent quest reward had voided that concern. Now, I’d get a decent amount of experience from monsters, though those partied with me would get even more. It would be painful to lose the level-drain powers of Fabulous Phallus, but it wouldn’t be the end of the world. I could grind proficiency levels and try again.

I think, going forward, the sex scenes are going to get a bit quirkier again. Probably not as much as Spellheart, but more intense and a bit more magic to them.
The reason for that is honestly I just find straight vanilla sex kinda boring to write, especially with characters who've already gotten a scene like that. I know people keep asking for plain vanilla sex with no kink or magical effects like super ejaculations or magical domination, but plain vanilla stuff interests me exactly once. The first time the MC is with a new character. After that, I just feel like we've seen it all before.
So probably more scenes like this and less like prior scenes. If readers don't like it, I'll just start leaving more stuff fade-to-black.

Truthfully, I'm somewhat afraid that readers prefer to put themselves in Carter's position, and if they're doing that, hearing his name too often could be immersion breaking for that crowd. That's why I don't use his name too often in the text. I could be wrong, though. It's one of those things that needs more thought (and to talk to more readers.)

The main point of the soulbond is actually going to be so Carter can use Lifesteal to heal his girls in combat during the next book, but yeah, I don't want it to come off as rapey. I don't plan on adding explicit consent dialogue every intimate scene since it's a bit immersion breaking and the people who demand that sort of stuff are never satisfied with just that, but I have no plans on making carter rapey. He doesn't want the System issuing "murder your evil slave master!" quests on him.
