or actually that login is about google's web applications - logging to gmail on different browser tab was enough to enable downloading. I don't really use those except on phone, so that is probably (in part) the reason why I notice this issue. Still, other links just worked, so something is different here

Since you're asking: there is something different with those two - I'm prompted to log in to google drive? ...after which downloads work. Odd since my gmail address has nothing to do with my patreon account. But I need to be logged in in order to download...
